Description
Glaucous Winged Gull (larus glaucescens) – Campbell River, Vancouver Island
Common to abundant on the north-west coast of North America, these large gulls nest on rock islands, cliffs, and even rooftops. Historically they mainly ate fish, marine invertebrates, carrion, and some small birds and mammals. Their diet now includes refuse, and they are often seen at garbage dumps and fast food outlets.
