Description
Yellow-Bellied Marmot (marmota flaviventris) – Nelson, British Columbia
Also known as a rock chuck these marmots are found in the mountains of southwestern Canada. They often dig their burrows under rocks to provide safety from predators. Yellow-bellied marmots are omnivores, but mostly eat vegetation, and sometimes bird eggs and insects as well.
