Moon Jellyfish (aurelia aurita) – Zeballos, Vancouver Island
The moon jellyfish can be found in bays and harbours worldwide. They can be recognized by their short tentacles and the white to purple gonads in the centre of the bell. Their colour changes depending on what they eat. Diet mainly consists of plankton, fish eggs, crustaceans and mollusks.
