Pacific Blue Mussel (mytilus trossulus) – Zeballos, Vancouver Island
The pacific blue mussel can be found in shallow, sheltered waters along the western North American coast. They attach themselves to rocks and submerged wood, and they are normally found in large colonies. As filter feeders, their diet consists of plankton and small floating organic particles.
